Lateral Building Design were engaged to carry out a concept design and town planning application for our client who was thrilled with our efforts in attaining a planning permit.

Like many developers, our client wanted to make a substantial return by successfully developing the land and with total site area of 833 sq.m, we were able to present a concept that included 3 large townhouses.

As the site was located within Significant Landscape Overlay, consideration to the trees located on and surrounding the site was of high importance and therefore provided some limitations to the design. This was overcome with consideration to the dwellings positioning on the site. Further, to avoid ‘boxy and sheer double storey walls’, a well-articulated concept that also utilized various colours and materials, assisted in reaching an outcome that both satisfied the objectives of council and meeting the clients expectations for this project.

Given our successful outcome, our client returned for further development projects
